What’s the obsession with talking to AI-powered forms?

Lately, almost everyone who’s tried to convince me that AI is the real deal shows a prototype they’ve vibe-coded, where people no longer need to fill in forms manually, but rather speak at a form and AI’s voice-to-speech does the tedious job of adding text to each input field.

Don’t get me wrong, I think voice controlled interfaces are pretty cool, I’m just worried that with so many people thinking “Oh! I can talk to a form, cool!”, it's only a matter of time before some product owner somewhere gets excited and before you know it, people are yelling out their symptoms at the hospital or sperm bank.

The way I see it, I don’t think the problem is technology, but the habit of always rushing into half-baked solutions without a proper understanding of the problem.
